Dr. Larry M. Augustin
Chairman and CEO, VA Software

Larry Augustin, Chairman and CEO, founded VA Software in 1993 as a PhD student in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. A strong advocate of collaborative software development, Augustin was the visionary behind SourceForge.net, which quickly became the world’s largest Open Source development Internet site following its launch in November 1999. Augustin serves on the board of directors for OSDL, the Open Source Development Lab, and Linux International. Prior to VA Software, Augustin was a research associate in the Program Analysis and Verification Group (PAVG) at Stanford University where he worked on rapid prototyping languages, software engineering, hardware verification, and software prototyping environments. Prior to Stanford, he worked as a systems engineer on high-speed switched digital services at AT&T Bell Laboratories. Larry Augustin holds a PhD and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a BSEE from the University of Notre Dame.
Ali Jenab
President and Chief Operating Officer, VA Software

Ali Jenab, President and Chief Operating Officer, leads the day-to-day operations at VA. A seventeen-year veteran of Amdahl Corporation, Jenab served most recently as Group President of Amdahl’s Technology Division. Prior to being named Group President, Jenab held several executive positions at Amdahl, including Vice President of Strategic Business and Vice President of Systems Marketing, responsible for marketing S/390, UNIX and NT server and storage products.
Douglas Leone
Senior Partner, Sequoia Capital

Douglas Leone has served on VA’s Board of Directors since October 1998. He has been at Sequoia Capital since July 1988 and has been a General Partner since 1993. He is a member of the board of directors of Scient Corporation and several other private corporations. Leone received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, a M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University and an M.S. degree in Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management.
Robert M. Neumeister, Jr.
Chief Financial Officer, Myriad Proteomics

Robert M. Neumeister, Jr., has served on our Board of Directors since June 2001. Since September 2001, Mr. Neumeister has served as chief financial officer for Myriad Proteomics, Inc., a company engaged in mapping of the human proteome. Mr. Neumeister was chief financial officer of Aerie Networks, Inc., from January 2000 until June 2001. Mr. Neumeister served as vice president and director of finance of Intel Corporation from December 1998 through December 1999. Prior to joining Intel, Mr. Neumeister served as chief financial officer of Sprint Corporations PCS group from September 1995 through November 1998. Mr. Neumeister is a member of the board of directors of Symmetricom, Inc.
Eric S. Raymond
President, Open Source Initiative

Eric S. Raymond has been on VA’s Board of Directors since October 1998. Raymond is the author of "The Cathedral and the Bazaar."
Carl Redfield
Senior Vice President of Manufacturing, Cisco Systems

Carl Redfield has served on VA’s Board of Directors since October 1998. He is Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Logistics for Cisco Systems. Redfield was previously Vice President of Manufacturing of Cisco Systems. He serves on the boards of Broadwing, Inc., CTC Communications, Inc. and iBASIS. Redfield received a B.S. degree in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School.
David B. Wright
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Legato Systems

David Wright joined VA Software’s Board of Directors in December 2001.Wright is Chairman and CEO of Legato, a worldwide leader in enterprisestorage management software. He joined Legato following a 13-yearcareer with Amdahl Corporation, where he had served as President andChief Executive Officer since 1997. Wright first joined Amdahl in 1987as Vice President for Sales and Service in the Northeast region of theUnited States, and in 1989, was promoted to Vice President in charge ofall U.S. commercial sales activities. In 1992 he was named Vice Presidentand General Manager of Amdahl Europe. Wright was appointed Senior VicePresident and General Manager of Worldwide Compatible Products Operationsin 1994 and became Executive Vice President of the Amdahl Systems Groupin 1995, with responsibility for all computer hardware products, systemssupport services, and the field sales force.
