The Mockingbird Point Off-Leash
Dog Park was formally opened to the public on Friday, June 8, 2001 in a ceremony featuring Texas Rangers baseball legend Nolan Ryan, although
lake goers and their four-legged friends were allowed to use the facility a full week prior to that date.
Although the park is on city-property, it was paid for with numerous private and corporate donations including a $25,000 grant from the
Muenster Milling Company, a dog food manufacturer.
Today, the Dallas Dog Park improvements are
jointly accomplished thru the Bond that was passed in 2006 and to volunteer time and donations. If you'd like to help out, please
donate
or
volunteer! We thank you, and the dogs thank you even more!
Dallas Dog Park Hours
The Dallas Dog Park is open from 5 AM to
11 PM year round. The park is closed for maintenance every Monday. The park is also closed in the event of inclement weather.
Note that heavy rains greatly affect the Dog Park and the Park may be closed
for several days following a storm to allow saturated ground to dry out.
Dallas Dog Park Location
The Dallas Dog Park is located at 8000
E. Mockingbird Lane in Dallas (75218).
From 75 (Central Expressway), drive east on Mockingbird Lane. You will pass Greenville Ave, Skillman, Abrams and Williamson.
The parking lot for the park is past the West Lawther turn on the south side of Mockingbird. It is immediately before the water, so if you see White Rock Lake
or get to Buckner, you've gone too far.
