Walk, Wag and Run 2010

On Tuesday, February 18 we met with the Lakewood Service League and were handed a check for $8,000 to help with the redevelopment of the dog park - which should take place sometime this year!  This donation is earmarked to help with the new design for our dog park friends who have mobility or handicapped issues. 

The design calls for easy access in and out of both the little and big dog parks and water access areas, as well as the ability to utilize the park with four-legged friends.  How hard it is for those who are only able to watch their pups play, rather than play with them.  How wonderful it will be for everyone, regardless of mobility, to experience the return of slobbery ball or a wet kiss after a canine swim in the lake.  Once completed by the city of Dallas, both the small and the large dog park will have special trails that encompass the park areas and allow easy access for everyone for visiting with the other two and four legged visitors!
